Swift is a privately owned, independent intermediary incorporated in Bermuda in December 2000. Our small size and independence allows for considerable flexibility in dealing with clients and underwriters alike. We strongly believe that a personal approach to broking remains the favoured and our chosen method of conducting business.

Swift’s position as an independent intermediary domiciled in Bermuda puts it on the doorstep of the most dynamic insurance and reinsurance marketplace in the world. Gross written premium in Bermuda is now in excess of US$100 billion written on the back of total capital and surplus for all international insurers of close to US$90 billion.

The development of Bermuda’s insurance and reinsurance market over the past 30 to 40 years continues apace. The latest wave followed the tragic events of September 11, 2001 in New York and Washington. The vast majority of new capital injected into the insurance and reinsurance industry following these events flowed into Bermuda. This, coupled with the continued inflow of intellectual capital, has cemented Bermuda’s place at the forefront of the global insurance and reinsurance industry. Bermuda is now truly accepted as an alternative to the traditional strongholds of London and the US for many lines of insurance and reinsurance.
